Jim was called to be the Pastor of Family and Discipleship in April 2022. A Colorado native, Jim enjoys backpacking, coffee roasting, woodworking, music making, and most activities near or above timberline.
Jim received training at Colorado State University (BA) and at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv, PhD candidate). Before coming to Monument Hill, Jim served as the Minister of Music at Clifton Baptist Church, where he also did a pastoral internship. His research interests include the literary, interpretive and rhetorical practices of the biblical authors.
“I desire that I, my family, and others might know the glory of God as revealed in the person of Jesus Christ, trust his word as revealed in the Scriptures, and be transformed to love God and neighbor by the power of his Spirit until the consummation of his eternal kingdom. My aim for pastoral ministry is to faithfully shepherd and instruct Christ’s people that they might be equipped to help one another grow to maturity in him, and I pray that he keeps me and uses me for the glory of his name.”
